Letter to: WATD News
My name is Daniel Botelho and I am the Independent in the 9th US Congressional Race here in Massachusetts. As the only Independent Candidate to have passed in the required nomination signatures into the State Secretary’s Office to be on November’s ballot while reading the Patriot Ledger I was somewhat disheartened. I came across the short article indicating the debates between the Democratic & Republican Candidates tonight with not even a mention of my Candidacy. That being stated it is what I signed up for in a sense running as an Independent in a heavily entrenched two party system.
Which brings me to my reason for contacting you; I realize that these debates are focused on those with a primary. I absolutely understand the need for listeners to hear the candidates square off with one another. But given voters this election already have me on the general election ballot I would greatly appreciate if I could be on in the short future and asked similar questions so that listeners can hear that they have a viable Independent choice.
I have had the pleasure of being included in other forums; I joined the Democratic Candidates at a forum last Saturday on Martha’s Vineyard as a spectator at first but included in the meet and greet. I joined the Republican Candidates at a Plymouth Rock Cape and the Islands Tea Party Forum in Pembroke as a full participant. At these and other events I have received tremendously positive feedback and am working hard to raise awareness of my campaign all while holding a full time job.
As previously mentioned I would graciously appreciate the opportunity to have a similar discussion on my thoughts and plans on issues facing our district and country on air in the near future.
Thank you,
Daniel Botelho Independent for United States Congress District 9, Massachusetts*please be sure to call into WATD and show your support by requesting that your candidate Daniel, be heard. WATD On Air Phone: (781) 837-4900
